Why I Became a Dentist

Dr. Luccio had always been drawn to healthcare, but dentistry stood out to him because of how closely he’d get to be working with his patients. He notes that dentists have a very unique role when it comes to the doctor-patient relationship. The fact is these relationships can easily last a lifetime, and the more he learned how dental disease and gum disease represented two of the most common diseases in America, it made him realize how important teeth really are. He quickly realized how a career in dentistry would allow him to make a pretty incredible impact on his community. For these reasons, he feels it’s an honor every day to walk through the doors of this dental office and provide patients the care they need.

My Educational Background

Dr. Andrew Luccio hails from the South Shore. With a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Richmond and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Dr. Luccio benefits from extensive formal education and training in comprehensive dentistry. His hard work has not gone unnoticed — Dr. Luccio earned the American Academy of Periodontology’s Achievement Award for academic and clinical excellence in periodontics after graduating from dental school.

Today, Dr. Luccio remains committed to adding to his skills by frequently engaging in continuing education opportunities. A member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Dental Association, Dr. Luccio has completed advanced training in Invisalign.

My Life Outside of the Dental Office

When he is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Luccio enjoys exploring his beloved Boston, traveling, rooting for the Celtics and Patriots, and spending time with friends and family.
